Getting A Batorok Puppy
Bringing a Batorok puppy home is a simple, transparent process centred on communication and connection. We breed only occasionally, and most of our puppies go to families who stay in touch with us over time. This page explains how our process works from the first enquiry through to the day you take your puppy home.
Initial Enquiry
Most families begin by reaching out via email. From there, we’ll ask you to complete our questionnaire so we can get to know you, your lifestyle, and what you’re hoping for in a Vizsla.
As the litter progresses, we naturally focus on families who stay engaged and continue the conversation. These families are almost always the ones who eventually welcome our puppies, as ongoing contact helps us understand who is genuinely committed.
We don’t take numbered waiting lists. It’s never about “first come, first served” but rather about forming a genuine connection and making appropriate matches.
Before the Litter Arrives
We keep our breeding program small, with usually only one or two litters per year. Updates about confirmed litters are shared through our DogzOnline listing, Facebook page, and sometimes Instagram.
If you’re still interested when puppies are confirmed, simply reach out again via email as this helps ensure our list reflects families who are both ready and genuinely committed. Before puppies are born, we get to know prospective families, answer questions and share updates.
Early Allocation After Birth
Once puppies arrive safely, we contact families within the first 24–36 hours to share numbers and availability. If there is a puppy for you from that litter, we’ll invite you to formally commit.
A deposit is due within three days. This timeframe keeps things clear and fair for everyone. If a family decides not to go ahead within this period, we simply offer the puppy to the next committed home on our list.
The remainder of the purchase price is due before the six-week vet check. If the balance isn’t received by that time, the deposit is considered forfeited and the puppy is made available to another home.
Meeting Us and the Dogs
We don’t host meet-and-greets at our home prior to commitment, but we are happy to meet families with our adult dogs either locally or at a show, trial, or dog sport event we are attending. Many families enjoy seeing our dogs in their “natural habitat” — relaxed, confident, and part of everyday life.
Visits to meet the puppies themselves occur only after the first vaccination, at approximately six weeks of age. These visits are reserved for families who are already financially committed. We typically make an entire weekend available (Saturday and Sunday, with the occasional Friday) to ensure everyone has the chance to visit without rushing.
Our home is our family space, not a shopfront, and we keep visits limited for the wellbeing of the puppies.
Puppy Collection
Batorok puppies are generally ready to join their new homes as soon as they turn eight weeks of age. This timing is ideal as it supports bonding, routine-building, and continuing socialisation at a critical stage of development. We find puppies thrive best when they begin life with their new families at around eight weeks of age.
Puppies go home vaccinated, microchipped, vet-checked, and raised with a foundation inspired by Puppy Culture. You will also receive our comprehensive puppy pack, including food, paperwork, and familiar items to help with the transition.
Guardian Homes
Because we keep our dogs in our home as loved family companions, we maintain only a small number of adults living with us. This allows every dog to enjoy daily attention, training, and a full family life.
On occasion, we place a promising puppy in a guardian home which is a carefully chosen family who welcomes a puppy as their own, while also partnering with us for one or two future litters (if suitable). This approach allows our young dogs to grow up with more one-on-one time than we could provide if we kept many at home, and it allows us to preserve and continue lines we believe strongly in.
Guardian homes receive the purchase price back after their girl has contributed her planned litters. These homes become an important part of our extended Batorok family, and we choose them with care, the same way we choose every future owner.
If you feel this arrangement may be right for you, you are welcome to email us for more information.
Staying In Touch
Once committed, families are added to our private Batorok Puppy Family group where we share regular photos, videos, and updates. This keeps everyone connected and allows you to follow the litter’s journey from birth to going home.
We remain available for ongoing support throughout your dog’s life, whether you need training advice, food recommendations, or just want to share updates.
