Raising Our Batorok Puppies

At Batorok, every litter begins long before puppies arrive. Our pairings are planned months, and often years, in advance — selected for sound structure, stable temperaments and the qualities that strengthen our breeding program. Once born beside our bed, each puppy is raised within our home with active involvement, meaningful socialisation and a development approach tailored to each puppy.

Their Beginning

Each litter is the result of careful, long-term planning. Puppies begin life beside our bed in a calm, secure environment with constant care and early human connection.

Nurturing Growth

Our bedroom becomes a dedicated whelping space for the first weeks. From there, puppies move through structured home environments influenced by Puppy Culture principles.

Your New Companion

By eight weeks, puppies have strong emotional foundations, early training exposure and essential health steps completed — ready to begin life as confident young Vizslas.

Their Beginning

Every Batorok litter begins months, sometimes years, before birth, with thoughtful planning and careful selection of parents.

We select breeding dogs who meet the published Vizsla standard, demonstrate sound structure, stable temperaments and strong working ability. All breeding dogs complete comprehensive health screening prior to breeding, including hip and elbow scoring, DNA testing and heart evaluations.

Puppies are born beside our bed in a quiet, temperature-controlled space prepared especially for them. In these early days we monitor them closely and provide constant contact, ensuring their first experiences are relaxed, predictable and safe.

Nurturing Growth

Our whelping room is arranged to provide warmth, safety and constant supervision during the first weeks of life. The puppies spend their first weeks here, surrounded by warmth, familiarity and round-the-clock care.

As they grow, they transition into larger areas within our main living spaces, where they experience the normal rhythms of household life. We incorporate elements from Puppy Culture and other evidence-informed raising frameworks, including:

  • exposure to gentle household noises

  • structured handling and grooming

  • varied textures and surfaces

  • supervised interactions with our adult dogs

  • early crate and toilet foundations

  • positive introductions to visitors and children

  • age-appropriate enrichment and play

This stage is designed to build confidence, curiosity and resilience while always protecting their sense of safety.

We intentionally keep the number of dogs in our home limited so that each one receives meaningful time with us. Most Batorok puppies go on to live as well-loved family companions, and we are grateful to the exceptional homes who partner with us to preserve lines and contribute to the future of the breed when suitable.

Your New Companion

By eight weeks, each puppy is confident, well-adjusted and ready for life with their new family, shaped by early socialisation and hands-on raising.

Each puppy goes home with:

  • a comprehensive veterinary health check

  • their first vaccination

  • worming

  • microchipping

  • Orivet DNA testing

  • Dogs Australia registration

  • early crate and toilet training exposure

  • handling practice

  • a personalised puppy pack

  • two months of pet insurance

  • lifetime support from us

Beyond these essentials, they leave with the confidence that comes from steady routines, positive experiences and a stable home environment.

We are honoured to stay connected with our puppy families and support them throughout their dog’s lifetime. Some families also choose to partner with us in preserving our lines through responsible breeder’s terms arrangements, helping to carry forward the legacy of our program.

Our Values

We are committed to breeding Vizslas with purpose — dogs who are structurally sound, gentle-natured, versatile and deeply connected to their people.
